The Book is My Friend – Expanding Horizons
Launched in 2022 with the support of the Magic Library Foundation, the program The Book is My Friend has grown far beyond its original scope. The number of participants has tripled, rising from 300 to more than 850 enthusiastic young readers.
Two main factors explain this success:
- Access to books: In a context where high book prices and the dominance of screens limit reading, providing books has sparked unprecedented interest.
- Role of facilitators: Trained by the theatrical troupe Zoukak, they have inspired children through engaging and lively storytelling.
This expansion confirms the positive impact of the program and encourages Alpha to continue and broaden the initiative, strengthening children’s love for reading.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Magic Library Foundation for its trust and ongoing support.
Despite wars and displacement, we are full of hope that The Book is My Friend will continue to grow and inspire, offering children a space where reading becomes a true source of joy and discovery.
