We are proud to highlight the participation of Perla Naaman, Director of the A’risheh Ecological Center in Wadi el Karm—an initiative supported by Alpha Association and Agence Française de Développement (AFD)—as one of Lebanon’s representatives in the NABTA program.
Perla Naaman represented A’Risheh as an ecological education initiative empowering youth through reforestation, eco-citizenship, and nature conservation activities — all while promoting environmental awareness in open nature.
Funded by AFD, deployed by Campus Groupe AFD, and operated by INCO, the 9-month NABTA program brings together 25 inspiring changemakers from across the Mediterranean to develop pro-nature projects that protect biodiversity and advance sustainable, inclusive solutions.
During the program’s in-person gathering in Tunis, Perla led an engaging workshop entitled:
🌿 “L’importance de l’écosystème dans l’agroécologie”,
highlighting the essential role ecosystems play in building resilient, nature-positive communities—an approach critically needed in the Middle East as environmental challenges continue to intensify.
Through their collective efforts, these 25 innovators are shaping a more sustainable and hopeful future for the Mediterranean region.
